2007 Budget
On 7 June 2007, the Treasurer released the 2007-08 Tasmanian Budget.
Features of the 2007-08 Budget include:
- Total budgeted expenditure for health and human services of almost $1.4 billion
- Increased funding in excess of 7 per cent across all health and human services
- The first stages of implementation of Tasmania’s Health Plan
- Introduction of a new Ambulance Service Fee from 1 July 2008.
- $5 million for the commencement of the Royal Hobart Hospital Redevelopment project.
- Increased funding to support the continuation of the reform of child protection services.
- The release of up to $10 million in Crown Land for affordable housing and the introduction of a shared equity scheme to improve home ownership opportunities for disadvantage Tasmanians
- $12.2 million in additional funding for community sector organisations.
