DHHS relies on the contribution made by organisations in the community sector to ensure that eligible people receive the services they need.
Community sector reform is currently occurring in these service areas:
- Supported Accommodation Assistance Program (SAAP)
- Home and Community Care (HACC)
- Disability Services
Home and Community Care (HACC)
The HACC Program is jointly funded by the Australian and Tasmanian Governments. The HACC Program aims to assist people with functional disabilities to live independently in their own homes and be a part of community life.
The HACC Program funds a range of organisations to provide services to eligible clients - including personal care, community nursing, domestic assistance, home maintenance, transport, meals, respite and social support.
Fees apply for most service types.
Information about the HACC Program is available in the Health & Wellbeing Directory, or you may contact the HACC Unit on 6233 5202.
