Health Services
As part of the reorganisation of the Department of Health and Human Services, the Health Services Group has been created to reflect the new integrated system of care delivery services.
The Health Services Group comprises seven Operational Units:
These Operational Units ensure the Tasmanian community’s access to a comprehensive range of health services. The Units’ diverse range of functions include the provision of quality, best value acute hospital and ambulance services and appropriate services to people with chronic illness; comprehensive primary health care, covering a wide range of services within multi-disciplinary teams in urban and rural areas across the State; a wide range of oral health services for children and eligible adults, cancer screening services and forensic medicine services.
In addition to the provision of services by its Operational Units, Health Services will also continue to work in partnership with many of the Non Government Organisations in the Non Government Sector, to assist the Agency in meeting its organisational goals.
