Up to $1.5m is available from the Community Housing Program (CHP) for eligible organisations to construct, purchase or upgrade affordable rental accommodation for older people (55+) in rural and remote areas in receipt of low to moderate incomes.
The CHP is funded by the Australian Government and the Tasmanian Government. It is expected that eligible organisations will work in partnership with Government and will make a significant contribution toward the cost of their project.
The 2008-09 CHP funding round will be administered in two stages. The first stage will be a call for expressions of interest (EOI). Short listed organisations will then be invited to proceed to the second stage which will require significantly more detail.
