Human Resources provides strategic and specialist advice and administrative support in relation to the management of human resources within the Department, including high level strategic advice to the Agency Executive Committee (AEC) and other senior managers.
The Unit also promotes the strategic management of human resources to ensure that employee skills support the Department’s strategic directions, and provides a comprehensive range of services including:
- Staff Practices – ensuring fair and effective procedures for the selection and deployment of people to meet organisational needs;
- Remuneration and Conditions – ensuring the attraction and retention of people, and the enhancement of their performance, through appropriate pay and conditions within a healthy and safe environment;
- Human Resource Planning – forecasting and planning for future people requirements in DHHS. Aligning HRS to the future business requirements of DHHS;
- Human Resource Development – improving organisational effectiveness by fostering the skills and knowledge of people; and
- Working Together – fostering and maintaining good working relationships between people and organisations that recognise their mutual dependence.
- Occupational Health and Safety and Injury Management – developing high level injury prevention and management strategies in all Agency worksites.
