The newly established Office for the Community Sector (OCS) is located at 188 Collins Street, Hobart (Plaza level, Block 1, Housing Tasmania office).

TasCOSS Fairer Futures Conference will be held in Hobart from 29-31 October 2008. The DHHS is a major sponsor of this conference.

Established in March 2008, the Office for the Community Sector (OCS) is responsible for:

  • Providing strategic leadership in the development of the non government community sector.
  • Working across government and with non government organisations to increase the effectiveness of Tasmania’s community sector.
  • Developing policy, systems and processes to support the delivery of more effective community sector services.
  • Providing high level advice to Government and the Agency Executive Committee regarding community sector reform and the enhancement of services needed in the community.
The OCS will divide its internal structure to best represent its core functions. Accordingly the Office will have a;
