Finance & Business Performance
The Finance and Business Performance Group is tasked with the management and provision of both financial strategic direction and policy decisions for the Department of Health and Human Services.
At the highest level, the purpose of the group is to monitor and report on the financial performance of the Agency so that informed decisions can be made which will lead to the delivery of best value for money.
Core to the groups activities is the management and ongoing development of a central financial reporting and management function which is required to satisfy the following key purposes;
- To provide accurate and timely operational and strategic financial information and advice on both a regular and as required basis;
- To ensure our statutory financial reporting obligations are met;
- To deliver accurate and timely financial information and advice to the Agency Executive Committee and other senior management groups;
- To provide accurate and timely financial position reporting and advice to Treasury as required;
- To provide accurate and timely information and advice on all financial matters to the Minister and other Government entities as required;
- To provide input, guidance and advice to operational business units to assist them manage to required financial outcomes.
