Services to Housing Tasmania clients are provided State-wide through a four-area service delivery model, incorporating seven local service centres and the State Administration office in Hobart. Some programs are delivered by community organisations on behalf of Housing Tasmania. A recent initiative has been the creation of Tasmanian Affordable Housing Limited which will be an independent, not for-profit-organisation, and will lease new properties from the private sector. These properties will then be made available to low-income Tasmanians eligible for public housing. Housing Tasmania is funded by the Australian and Tasmanian
Governments through the Commonwealth-State Housing Agreement
