The North West Regional Hospital (NWRH) is an accredited teaching hospital offering a comprehensive range of general and specialist health services.

NWRH is a 160 bed public facility situated beside a 70 bed private hospital, a medical centre that provides pathology, pharmacy and imaging services, and the University of Tasmania's Rural Clinical School.

In 2006-07 NWRH at Burnie provided 7,486 inpatient separations and 80,632 occasions of service to outpatients. In addition the hospital dealt with 24,432 presentations to the Department of Emergency Medicine. Our commitment to the provision of the highest quality health care services has been recognised through accreditation in 2006 by the Australian Council on Healthcare Standards.

One of the State's most prosperous farming areas, it is renowned for its world heritage national parks, friendly community, great beaches, scenic rainforest walks, world class food and produce, and exciting recreation experiences.
