Partnerships

The Department of Health and Human Services, Tasmania works collaboratively with a number of partners, both locally and Nationally to ensure the best health outcomes and services for the people of Tasmania.

Our strategic partnerships with organisations such as the University of Tasmania, Divisions of General Practice, and the Tasmanian Police Service offer a valuable mechanism for progressing the agenda for change and innovation in the planning and provision of health and human services.

Volunteers play an inportant role. It is conservatively estimated that on any one day over 100,000 volunteers support the provision of essential services in Tasmania - providing food, shelter, transport, recreational, justice, education, communications, health and environmental services.

DHHS is a key contributor to Tasmania Together and is coordinating and contributing to nearly 30 indicators and targets. Tasmania Together is a community owned vision for the State developed with broad community consultation.

Keep Connected is a partnership between Aged Rural Community Health (ARCH) Health Promotion Coordinator South District and Women’s Health South. For more information >>

Oral Health Services Tasmania (OHST) operates the Emergency Dental Care Scheme to provide eligible Tasmanians with access to timely and effective emergency and urgent dental treatment through collaboration between private and public sector dental services. For more information >>
