Welcome

The Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) is responsible for delivering integrated services that maintain and improve the health and wellbeing of individual Tasmanians and the Tasmanian community as a whole.

Our Vision is:

Improved health and wellbeing for Tasmanians.

Our Mission is to:

Ensure access to quality health and human services.

Our Goals are:

  • Healthier individuals

Healthier individuals are people who have the capacity to maximise their potential and quality of life.

  • Stronger families

Stronger families have the capacity to function well, support and sustain each other.

  • Stronger, healthier communities

Stronger, healthier communities activate and use their resources and make or influence decisions
that maximise the common good.

  • Healthier organisation

A healthier human services organisation is responsive to the external environment, including government priorities and client and community needs, and practises good public sector management to support service delivery and client outcomes.
