Emergency Management Sub Unit

The Emergency Management Sub Unit is located within the Professional Services & Advice Unit (PSA) and reports to the Chief Health Officer. The role of the Sub Unit is to ensure that the Department’s obligations in the area of emergency and disaster planning and preparedness are met in an effective and coordinated manner.

The Sub Unit is responsible for:

• liaison with relevant external Agencies involved in emergency and disaster management including Local, State and Commonwealth Government to ensure that the Department is adequately prepared for potential emergency events; and
• providing specialist advice to all areas of the Department that have responsibility for, or involvement in, service delivery or support functions during periods of emergency or disaster.
