Dr Zainab Sabri Dr Zainab Sabri, Staff Specialist - Obstetrician - Mersey Community Hospital

Iraq-born Dr Sabri had been working in Dubai before making the decision to emigrate to Tasmania.,  Dr Sabri brought three young children to live in North West Tasmania, and says the family are loving their new North West home.

Dr Sabri says..

"The support I have felt, from both her hospital colleagues and the local community, has made my transition from a major global city to regional Tasmania a smooth one."

Dr Luke Mitchell

Luke says the beauty of working in a small hospital is that there is greater opportunity for him to be involved in specialised procedures.

Luke says..

"The flexible, supportive working environment at the North West Regional Hospital has allowed me to take holidays at a time convenient  to me, rather than being pushed onto the bottom of a pre-existing roster.  I also love the fact that I can now walk to work everyday."

Dr Pradeep Sanjamala

After growing up and completing his medical studies in India, Pradeep Sanjamala was keen to search for opportunities to build his career elsewhere in the world.

Pradeep says..

"My circle of friends and I called Tasmania the island of inspiration.  It is the support and encouragement from the friendly staff who work across the Tasmanian Health Organisation — North West's two hospitals that make it such a fantastic place to work."

Given her love for the outdoors and particularly hiking, Tasmania was an obvious choice for Michelle both work and play.

Michelle says..

Dr Brian Doyle, Director of Emergency  - North West Regional Hospital

Virginian - born Dr Doyle was initially drawn to Tasmania for the ability to enjoy excellent outdoor opportunities at his doorstep and to find that elusive work-life balance.

Dr Doyle says..

"North West Area Health Service is set apart from other regional hospitals because it has an established teaching program and opportunities for research.  The North West Regional Hospital, where I am based, has a good critical mass of specialists and a friendly culture."
