Eligibility

You will need to determine and provide evidence of your eligibility for medical registration in Australia. You must be registered with a relevant professional body, or eligible for conditional registration by the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) if you intend to practice in Tasmania.

PMCT

The Postgraduate Medical Education Council of Tasmania (PMCT) is responsible for the education and training of doctors in their early postgraduate years (PGY1 to PGY3) and the accreditation of training sites and training posts for junior doctors in Tasmania.

Registrars

Applications for our 2014 intake open on 22 May 2013, the closing date is 15 August 2013 for most roles except Anaesthetics Registrars which close earlier on 5 July and Pelvic Surgery 28 June 2013. Other roles may be advertised throughout the year as they arise.
