Our clinical team works within communities, providing treatment, and promoting oral health and general wellbeing around Tasmania. TheTasmanian Oral Health Service offers differing work environments including clinics, hospitals and laboratories, as well as large and small facilities, various community and school-based locations and mobile dental vans. Oral Health Services Tasmania has modern surgery equipment and materials, and encourages contemporary minimally invasive dentistry. Learning and professional development are important to the Service and staff development programs, in-service training and participation in research projects are actively encouraged.
The Oral Health Services Tasmania clinical team is made up of dentists, oral health therapists, dental therapists, dental prosthetists, dental technicians, dental assistants, customer service officers and service technicians, and is supported by a strong Safety and Quality Unit.
Non-clinical support functions include project development, facilities management,information technology, policy development and business and service development. Employment Opportunities
To practice dentistry in Australia you must be registered with the Australian Dental Board. If you hold a dental qualification from another country and are interested in living and working in Tasmania as a dentist you may be eligible to participate in the Public Sector Dental Workforce Scheme.
