Dentistry

Extract yourself from the daily grind – as a qualified member of the dental team in the Department of Health and Human Services Oral Health you will work within communities, providing treatment, and promoting oral health and general well being around Tasmania. The Department offers differing work environments including clinics, hospitals and laboratories and our staff work in large and small facilities, various school-based locations and mobile dental vans.

Our service has modern surgery equipment and materials, and encourages contemporary minimally invasive dentistry. Most of your day will be spent with patients. However, learning and professional development are important to the organisation and development programs, in-service training and participation in research projects are actively encouraged.

As a team member you will be a dentist, oral health or dental therapist, dental technician, dental prosthetist or dental assistant and supported by a service which looks after you and your clients.

We offer great opportunities to expand your skills in emergency care, general care and children's dentistry, along with great opportunities to advance your career – all in one of Australia’s most desirable and liveable locations – from busy urban clinics to flying to some of our remote island communities – there is something to suit everyone.

*Note: We are currently seeking Dental Prosthetists and Dental Technicians.
