Advocacy for Children in Tasmania Consultation

Advocacy for Children in Tasmania Consultation (ACTC)

The Tasmanian Government is inviting community feedback on advocacy for children within Tasmania and possible changes to the role of the Commissioner for Children.

A discussion paper was developed by the Advocacy for Children in Tasmania Committee convened by the Minister for Children under the chair of Dr Maria Harries. The discussion paper raised a number of questions and topics for consideration, including the future direction of advocacy services for children in Tasmania. The committee has now finalised its report and recommendations. Both documents are below.

The following paper, kindly provided by the Australian Childrens' Commissioners and Guardians (ACCG) as part of the Child Rights International Network (CRIN), provides a comparison of the role of the Commissioner for Children / Children's Guardians across Australian jurisdictions.
