Kids Come First

The Kids Come First project is a ‘whole-of-government’ initiative to improve health and wellbeing outcomes for Tasmanian children and young people.

The project has developed an outcomes-based framework with a database that allows analysis at a locality/suburb level for children from birth to age 17 for a number of indicators.

This includes key indicators of health, wellbeing, safety, development and learning that reflect the influences of child, family, community and service systems.

The Kids Come First Report 2009 and the Tasmanian Child Health and Wellbeing Survey Report 2009 are now available.

These resources allow information about children’s outcomes at a statewide and local level to inform planning and effectively target resources.

For more information or to discuss further access to data please contact the Kids Come First project via email kidscomefirst@dhhs.tas.gov.au or on 6233 3764.
