Social and Economic Impact Study
The Social and Economic Impact Study into Gambling in Tasmania was released on the 22 July 2008. A copy of the Study has been made available here.

Charitable Organisations Grants Program 2007-08 Successful grant applicants announced
The Minister for Health and Human Services, Lara Giddings, has announced almost $300,000 in funding for community organisations working on projects designed to improve the health, well-being and lifestyles of Tasmanians.

Funded by the Community Support Levy
The Gambling Support Program is responsible for:
- Gambling Social Policy
- Gambling Support Services for people affected by gambling
- Gambling Research – social policy and projects
- Community Education and Harm Minimisation
- The Charitable Organisations Grant Program
Tasmania has in place an Integrated Gambling Framework to maximise the benefits from legal gambling while minimising the impacts of any negative social consequences.
The Framework brings together government, stakeholders from the gambling industry, and the community, to promote partnerships and inform policy to address social issues and concerns relating to gambling.
