Physiotherapy - Community Outreach Service

Physiotherapy specialises in human movement; Physiotherapists strive to improve an individual's quality of life and independence within the community through treatment and community support.

Physiotherapists strive to improve an individual's quality of life and independence within the community through:

  • outpatient assessment and treatment services from Community Health Centres and rural hospitals throughout Tasmania
  • group treatment and health promotion classes eg. hydrotherapy, gentle exercise and fitball classes
  • domiciliary (home based) services when patients are unable to access our centres.

Service Eligibility

This service is available to all members of the public excluding those exercising private health insurance within private hospitals or with private practitioners

Who can refer to us?

  • Self referral by phone or visit
  • Medical Practitioners
  • Health or community workers
  • Family / carer (with Client's consent)

Cost Information

Services are provided at no cost, however patients who have a third party providing payment of fees eg. DVA, MAIB, Workers Compensation will be charged.

(Please note that these patients my be directed to private practitioners depending on the length of waiting lists and the availability of alternatives to our service.)

External agencies and organisations are charged a fee for health promotion type services.
