Client Prioritisation

From time to time, it may be necessary for service providers to prioritise client access to services, due to the demand for services and funding limitations. Client eligibility for other programs does not change a client’s prioritisation under the Tasmanian HACC Program. Service providers should prioritise access to services based on the following criteria (not ranked order):

  • Client eligibility.
  • Level of client functional need for the service type.
  • Client and staff safety.
  • Clients experiencing additional barriers to services, as described in Inclusion
  • Clients without carers or support networks.
  • Clients vulnerable to further deterioration.

Service providers should consider client prioritisation as part of the client assessment process under Assessment in the Tasmanian HACC Program
