Sexual assault is a deeply distressing experience. DHHS acknowledges the pain, problems and difficulties - both personal and social - which women, men and children may suffer as a result of being sexually abused. The abuse can influence lives in many negative ways.

The Department of Health and Human Services fund a number of organisations that provide support, counselling and information to women, men and children who have been sexually assaulted at any time in their lives.
