Community Allied Health includes a range of professionals who work with individuals, families and carers in the community and after discharge from hospital to assist you with your recovery from illness, accident or trauma, or living with a disability or chronic illness.
Community Allied Health professionals include Physiotherapists, Occupational Therapists, Social Workers, Psychologists, Speech Pathologists, Podiatrists and Nutritionists. This group of professionals can assess your needs, provide therapeutic services including counselling and support and help you to access aids or equipment to assist you with your independence, mobility and quality of life.
Community Allied Health professionals that are available in your area can be contacted through your local Community Health Centre, Multi-purpose Service and District hospital or by referral from your Medical Practitioner.
