The Adult Dental Service provides a range of dental services including emergency dental care, general dental care and dentures.
Oral Health Services places great importance on prevention - regular dental care is the recommended regime to ensure ongoing healthy teeth and mouth.
Community Based Dental Clinics located in each region offer a range of dental services.

Phone the Oral Health Services Clinic nearest to you.
Please notify your dental clinic 24 hours in advance if you need to change an appointment. If you fail to advise, a $10.00 fee may apply.
Service Eligibility
To be eligible for adult dental services you must have either a Health Care Card or Pensioner Concession Card.

Cost Information
General Dental Care
- A co-payment will be charged for a course of care. This cost is based on 25% of the Department of Veterans' Affairs schedule of fees and is capped at $352.
Episodic Dental Care
- There is no charge for emergency or urgent treatment. Less urgent episodic care attracts a charge based on 25% of the Department of Veterans' Affairs schedule of fees.
How will I pay for my dental treatment?
You have a number of options when making payments.
These include cash, personal cheques and credit cards. EFTPOS facilities are also available.
Payments can also be made through Service Tasmania either in person, or over the telephone or via the internet. You can also pay in instalments by arranging Centrepay deductions from your Centrelink payment.
