The Tasmanian Infection Prevention & Control Unit (TIPCU) commenced in 2008. The unit is based within Population Health, Department of Health & Human Services (DHHS) but coordinates activities across DHHS clinical care providers and also has links with the private sector. TIPCU’s responsibility lies within the area of infections that are acquired as a result of contact with health care services, namely healthcare associated infections (HAI’s).
