Our Performance

The type of things Housing Tasmania monitors and report on include:

  • Number of applicants who are waiting for housing (Housing Register)
  • Time that it takes to house applicants
  • Number of applicants who are housed each year
  • Number of people provided with Private Rental Assistance
  • Number of people provided with homelessness assistance

Reports on Housing Tasmania’s performance can be found in the links below.

There is also significant progress towards creating new housing supply and housing assistance under Tasmania’s Affordable Housing Action Plan 2015‑2019 and regular quarterly reports are provided.

In 2014, the Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) released its DHHS Funded Community Sector Outcomes Purchasing Framework.

The Outcomes Framework provides a model focused on improving client outcomes. It assists with monitoring the performance of organisations we fund to deliver services to clients to ensure outcomes are achieved.

The Outcomes Framework was initially designed to monitor client outcomes to be delivered by funded non-government organisations. However, a Commissioning for Outcomes Statement will also be developed and implemented for social housing providers (registered community housing providers and Housing Tasmania). This means that Housing Tasmania will be using the Outcomes Framework to monitor its own performance.

In the future we will be releasing Public Report Cards annually that report on our performance against outcomes.
