Housing Connect: your questions

Here are some answers to some frequently asked questions about Housing Connect.

I'm used to going to Housing Tasmania. Why do I need to go to Housing Connect?

Housing Connect has been introduced to provide you with a better way to get help with housing and support needs.

From 1 October 2013, Housing Tasmania will no longer do assessment interviews and will not provide application forms.

To apply for social housing, a transfer or update your information about your application you will need to contact Housing Connect.

Do I need to make an appointment to visit a Housing Connect office?

No, anytime you need assistance just call into a Housing Connect office (during business hours) or call them on 1800 800 588, 24 hours a day.

What if I need help after office hours?

If you need emergency accommodation assistance after office hours, call Housing Connect on 1800 800 588 which is staffed 24 hours a day.

If you or someone in your household's safety is at risk, contact Tasmania Police on 000.
