Housing Tasmania has a portfolio of approximately 11,500 homes through it's public rental program. These homes are located throughout Tasmania and homes vary greatly in size and design. Access to public housing is limited to eligible applicants. Eligible applicants will have their level of housing need assessed and they will then be placed on a waiting list. Applicants with the highest level of housing need are offered a home first. Public housing is a limited resource, and applicants can expect a waiting period.

Cost Information
The amount of rent you will have to pay will depend of your household income. Payment of a bond is not required for public housing.
