Mental Health Services South

The delivery of Mental Health Services in the south of Tasmania is managed by the Southern Area Management Unit.

Mental Health Services South operates Adult Community Mental Health Services in each of the following regions:

• Hobart and Southern Districts
• Glenorchy and Northern Districts
• Clarence and Eastern Districts

The Child & Adolescent Mental Health Services operates across two sites in Hobart.

The Older Persons Mental Health Service consists of a Community Team and Dementia Behaviour Management Advisory Service based at New Town and an inpatient facility at Lenah Valley.

Acute Inpatient Mental Health Services managed by Mental Health Service South are:

1. The Department of Psychological Medicine
2. Psychiatric Intensive Care Unit
3. Tyenna Blue, New Norfolk

Extended Treatment Mental Health Services include:

• Mistral Place, Hobart
• Millbrook Rise, New Norfolk
• Campbell Street, Hobart
• Tolosa Street Respite and Rehabilitation Centre, Hobart
