2009 DHHS & UTAS Postgraduate Scholarships for Nurses and Midwives

The University of Tasmania (UTAS) - School of Nursing and Midwifery enrolments for 2009 are now open for postgraduate nursing and midwifery studies.

Full Fee Scholarships are available through the Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) & UTAS collaborative partnership for nurses and midwives employed by the DHHS for Graduate Certificate in Nursing, Graduate Diploma of Nursing, Graduate Diploma of Midwifery and Masters Courses in 2009.

The following nursing specialties will be on offer in 2009:

Child and Family Health Nursing*

Clinical Nursing & Teaching

Community Health Nursing

Critical Care Nursing

Emergency Nursing

Mental Health/Psychiatric Nursing

Neonatal Intensive Care Nursing

Paediatric Intensive Care Nursing

Paediatric Nursing

Perioperative Nursing

Renal Nursing

Cardiovascular Nursing

Special Care of the Newborn

*only available at Graduate Diploma level

Master of Clinical Nursing

Graduate Diploma of Midwifery

Master of Clinical Midwifery

Note: In some specialist streams clinical placement will be required. You can either apply online or download an application.

Firstly, you will to apply and should contact the School of Nursing and Midwifery for the specialisation code to put in your application. For all applications supportive documentation is required for example: evidence of work history and current registration to practice as a nurse/midwife.

Secondly, once you have received an offer you MUST complete the Enrolment Form and the HECS/CSF Form available online: NOTE: Question Number (11) you must tick "Full Up Front Fee Payment" to enable UTAS to make payment of your behalf. (NB: This is a required to ensure your enrolment is not cancelled).

Finally, submit all the completed forms to the postal address supplied.
