Relative carers who are receiving the fortnightly relatives allowance payments also receive an annual clothing payment of $165 in January for children in the program under the age of 16 years. Relative carers do not need to apply for the payment as the payment is generated by CAFS central office staff.
New applications approved after the payment in January should receive a pro rata payment based on the month that the assistance under the Relatives Carer Assistance program was approved. The pro rata clothing payment is generated by the CWIS data entry person within the Area Office.
