The Nutrition Unit within the Launceston General Hospital provides
nutritional assessment and counselling to patients, families and staff including
advice on achieving and maintaining optimal nutrition, and the most appropriate
form of nutrition delivery.
The nutrition department is referred patients from the Medical staff, Nursing
staff, other Allied Health and Food Service staff.
The dieticians work as part of a team in the following areas:
- Diabetes Centre;
- Holman Clinic;
- Renal Unit;
- Stroke Unit;
- Intensive Care Unit;
- Cardiac Rehabilitation Program;
- Lung Boosters Program; and
- Total Parental Nutrition Team.
The Nutrition Unit is located on Level 2 of the Launceston General
Hospital.
Opening Hours: 8.30am to 5.00pm, Monday to Friday (closed
Public Holidays)
