To assist Grandparents (and other relatives) caring for children, the Relatives Allowance Package includes
- a fortnightly payment of $28;
- a lump sum bonus payment of $364 payable in both May and November;
- a clothing allowance of $165 payable in January; and
- a Christmas payment of $75 payable in December.
This realises an annual package of $1660.
Please note that new applications approved between February and December will receive a pro-rata clothing allowance as part of their initial payment. Similarly, new applications will receive a pro-rata bonus payment for the half year in which they apply.
