A.Q.A. Victoria Ltd

AQA provides information to people who have suffered spinal cord injury and their famil that will enable them to live more independently in the community.

This information is communicated via:

  • Bi monthly newsletter News Link containing current and relevant information for peoplw with disabilities (in both Victoria and Tasmania). It also contains many personal stories about living with spinal cord injury. Subscription to the newsletter is $15.00 per annum. Membership to AQA is $10.00 per annum (details about membership are available on the AQA website)
  • Information booklets that contain information about services relevant to peope with disabilities in both Victoria and Tasmania.
  • An extensive database of disability related information that is complied, reviewed and expanded in order to provide current, accurate and timely informaiton on request. This information is relevant to both Victoria and Tasmania.
  • The AQA website hosts a forum page that provides users, particularly those in Victorian country areas and Tasmania, access to networking with others. People can post queries for response or enter useful information.
  • Peer support network - contact is made with Tasmania patients at the Victorian Spinal Cord Service, (Kew, Victoria) during their rehabilitation (there is no spinal cord unit operating in Tasmania). This contact is continued when the person returns to Tasmania as needed. AQA provides a freecall 1800 number to facilitate contact for people with spinal cord injury in Tasmania.
