Community Dementia Service - North

About Us

The Community Dementia Service is a team of health professionals who offer consultation, assessment, information and nursing care services to people with dementia living in the greater Launceston community.

Our Clinical Nurse Consultant is able to provide assessment and support in the North, outside of the Launceston Area.

We aim to provide quality care, valuing the worth of every person.  We work closely with the person with dementia, their families, carers and other health care providers.

We are also to provide education and support for the families and carers of our clients.

The team includes:

  • Enrolled Nurses
  • Health Care Assistants

Our service operates from 7:30 am to 9:30 pm seven days a week.

Person One Visit per Week Two or more visits per week (capped)
Pensioner $5.00 $10.00
Non Pensioner $20.00 $30.00


Mayne Street Day Centre

Mayne Street Day Centre is a part of the Community Dementia Service and provides secure day respite for people with dementia living in the community.

The Day Centre operates five days a week (Monday to Friday) and is staffed by a Diversional Therapist, Assistant and volunteers.

Transport can be arranged to and from the Day Centre (within the greater Launceston area).

Meals on Wheels can be organised through the Day Centre for lunches.

A fee is charged to cover the cost of transport and meals.

Morning and afternoon teas are provided.
