Through a number of funding sources Family Based Care (FBC) provides a wide range of support and information services to people who are frail through are or ill health, people with disabilities, and their carers.
Personal and Respite Care
Multu skilled direct care workers are employed to work in client's homes providing both personal care and respite.
The duties they persorm range from personal care such as bathing, feeding or dressing, to respite care which may include taking over the primary carer's role at home whilst they have time out.
Domestic
In some circumstances, assistance can be provided with normal household tasks such as vacuuming, laundry, cleaning bathrooms etc.
Much of the support is provided through the development of a package of care and FBC maintains close liaison with Community Nursing services, ACAY and other mainstream services such as hospitals and doctors.

Rural and Remote Respite
Clients in rural areas are assisted to maintain/enhance their skill levels and independence.
Individual Support Packages
The aim is to assist people with disabilities to live in the least restrictive environment in the community; exercise greater independence and control over their lives; and increase their participation in community activities.
Hosting
Hosting provides regular periods of respite care usually in the home of the Host. Host care can be for periods up to 48 hours once per month and is available to clients of any age.
East Coast Outreach Service
People who are frail through ill health or age and people with disabilities and their carers who live in Fingal Valley, St Helens and Scottsdale districts are support to live quality lives within their community.
Planned Activity Group and Respite Venue, Fingal
FBC operates a respite facility to provide day/overnight out of home care for a client with the assistance of a support worker if required.
The Centre also conducts planned acitivity groups for clients with disabilities as well as clients who are frail or aged from the Break O'Day area. Assistance with transport to the centre can be provided.
