About Housing

Many people have problems that may at times affect their lives including their tenancies. Sometimes we need assistance from friends, families and support organisations to help when we experience these difficulties.

There are a growing number of people in our community who require a little extra help to obtain and keep, safe, secure and affordable housing.

There is a lot of evidence which proves that having good housing helps people who face extra challenges in their lives to deal with those challenges and live more independently and positively in the long run. There is also evidence to suggest that good support can help people to stay in their homes longer.

Some people may only need a little help and for a short period of time, for example, advice on how to keep rental payments on track. Other people may need a higher level of support, for example, living in a unit or shared house where someone is on call to assist with more day to day tasks.
