For Healthcare Workers Supporting People with Malnutrition

Malnutrition in older people online training

Malnutrition is a major health problem that often goes unnoticed and therefore untreated.  Malnutrition affects around 5-11% of community living older people in Australia.  In most cases, the clients you see day to day will be well nourished and will not need any help.

Malnutrition risk screening is a quick, cost-effective way to identify people with nutrition problems that may require more support.

You may not work in the same role as the people in the training, but you can still think about how they can help. Whatever your role, you can make a difference to the health and wellbeing of your clients.

The characters and events in this training are fictional and are for training purposes only.

Click on each story below to explore how the Malnutrition Screening Tool (MST) and other resources can be used in ‘real life’ scenarios.
