Department of Emergency Medicine

The Department of Emergency Medicine at Mersey Community Hospital is vital to the local community providing healthcare services to individuals suffering injury or illness. This heavily utilised health facility has in excess of 23,000 presentations per year. The majority of patients are classified as category 3, 4 and 5. The Department has 7 treatment bays/rooms and a resuscitation room all managed by highly experienced health professionals.

In addition, we ensure a close and seamless relationship with co-located services including Radiology, Pathology, High Dependency Unit and a range of visiting medical officers and paramedical personnel, such as, Tasmanian Ambulance Service. This ensures efficient and effective service provision to the community.
