Housing Connect: information for the sector
Tasmania has united its housing and support organisations to work side-by-side on Housing Connect.
Five organisations – Anglicare, Centacare, Colony 47, Hobart City Mission and Salvation Army (Tasmania) – will deliver the collaborative new system for the Tasmania Government.
Protocols have been developed between the five organisations and Tasmania's emergency accommodation providers and relevant mainstream services who also deliver support for clients that access Housing Connect.
These partnerships aim to deliver a more coordinated and integrated model for clients to access support and achieve long term stable housing.
The new model
The new model is outlined in the Housing Connect proposal that was accepted by the Tasmanian Government in December 2012.
The five organisations have developed their own strategic planning documents.
- Housing Connect Service Strategic Framework
- Housing Connect Service Operating Framework
- Housing Connect Service Implementation Plan
Policies have been developed to provide an overarching framework and a shared understanding about how social housing services are delivered in Tasmania. The policies reflect the partnership between government and the community sectors.
- Assessment of Assistance and Support Needs Policy
- Connecting to Assistance and Support Policy
- Consent to Share Client Information Policy
- Housing Register
- Referrals Policy
- Managing Tenancies in Social Housing Policy
- Urgent Access to Housing and Support Policy
A Style Guide has been developed to help achieve a consistent and recognisable depiction of the Housing Connect brand. It is essential that these guidelines be followed at all times.
