Paramedic registration

Paramedicine is now a regulated profession as of 1 December 2018.

As such, the titles ‘paramedic’ and ‘paramedicine’ are now protected by law and only people registered with the Paramedicine Board of Australia (National Board) will be able to call themselves a paramedic.

If you are NOT employed by Ambulance Tasmania, your scope of practice is unaltered by paramedic registration and is conferred to you by your employer according to their licensing.
