Hepatitis C (hep C) is a blood-borne virus that causes inflammation (swelling and pain) of the liver.

This virus is in the blood of a person living with hep C and can be spread through blood-to-blood contact.

New treatments can cure hepatitis C

There is no vaccine for hepatitis C, but there are new easy treatments that cure over 95 per cent of people.

New tablets are affordable and can be prescribed by GPs.
