Food Safety for Businesses and Community Organisations
The following information will help food businesses and community groups produce and sell food safely.
Amendments to the Food Act 2003 to Extend Statewide Registration
The State Government has amended the Food Act 2003 to include a wider range of mobile food businesses under the single statewide approval provisions.
The amendment allows businesses operating mobile pizza ovens, custom-built barbeques and food sold from temporary structures such as tables, stalls and booths to apply to their home council for permission to operate the business statewide – across all council areas.
One statewide approval and one registration fee is now all that is needed to register these businesses.
